SATURDAY FEB 1ST, 2025 DAY 1

  • Time TBD:  Transport from Airport to the Resort - Once you have your flight arrangements, please let us know so we can arrange transport for you1

  • YOU ARRIVE! Arriving at a new environment can evoke a mix of excitement and apprehension. To establish comfort, take a moment to observe your surroundings. Identify a cozy spot where you feel at ease, whether it’s a chair, a corner of the room, or perhaps outside under a tree.

Begin by taking a few deep breaths. Inhale slowly, filling your lungs, and then exhale gently to release any tension. Notice the textures and colors around you. Maybe you appreciate the softness of a cushion or the sunlight streaming through a window.

Engage in light conversation with those around you. Offer a smile and listen attentively, allowing yourself to connect with others at a comfortable pace.

Consider bringing a small item that brings you comfort, such as a book, journal, or a favorite drink. This can serve as a familiar anchor in an unfamiliar space.

Lastly, allow yourself to be present. Embrace the moment and give yourself permission to settle in, knowing that comfort will come with time.

  • Dinner - SATURDAY Crispy Eggplant Gluten Free, Dairy Free Vegan (Subject to change)

  • Introductions - Welcome - Bonfire -

As the sun sets, we gather around a warm, inviting fire, its flickering flames casting a soft glow on all who are present. This space beckons to share stories and connect with one another. We encourage you to introduce yourself, sharing your name and a little about your journey.

Feel free to express what brings you here and any aspirations you hold for our time together. From past experiences to future dreams, each story enriches our collective experience. Let the warmth of the fire and the camaraderie of this community create an atmosphere of openness and trust.

Welcome to our first night together. We look forward to the connections we will forge.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a converter for my phone charger?

Costa Rican power outlets work with North American (US/Canada) devices.

Should I bring my nice clothes?

Playa Negra exudes a relaxed, surf town atmosphere. Picture lush jungle surroundings. There’s no need to pack formal clothing, elegant accessories. However, there is a wonderful restaurant in town, if you would like to dress up for this outing it would be a great time to do so.

Is there access to laundry services?

Yes, the price is $12/laundry load

How much cash should I bring?

This is contingent upon the experiences you choose during your stay: excursions, ceremonies, and gratuity must be paid in cash. Charges for lodging, food, and spa services can be billed to a credit card. However, opting to pay in cash instead of with a card offers a 7% tax savings. It is advisable to carry sufficient cash (USD) for your entire stay since there is no ATM available in Playa Negra.

Please see the extra excursion page HERE.

Should I exchange my USD for colones at the airport?

This is not necessary, as most restaurants and vendors in Costa Rica accept USD currency. However, if you'd like to have colones, there is a currency exchange in the airport, just past Immigration.

In October 2024, I didn't change USD for colones. When I paid in USD, I received change in colones. They handle the conversion well. I recommend bringing smaller bills like ones, fives, and tens for local shopping, rather than many twenties. However, $20 bills are fine for excursions.

What if I can't find the driver?

Please proceed to the cafe sitting area outside the Arrivals Terminal and contact Kim via Text or WhatsApp 513-237-2644.

CUSTOMS & IMMIGRATION

IMPORTANT- Upon arrival, proceed to customs. The wait time will vary based on the season, time of day, and day of week. Usually, customs takes 20-40 minutes. WIFI and restrooms are available in the area. Show the immigration officer: your passport, the address of the Retreat Center (given in your retreat details) and your return ticket departing from Costa Rica within 180 days of arrival. ANY QUESTIONS DO NOT WORRY REACH OUT TO ME info@artnsoulconnection.com

FIND YOUR DRIVER

Once in the Arrivals Terminal, proceed outside through the main sliding glass doors. Once outside, look for the driver holding a Retreat sign. There will be many other drivers and tour operators who may attempt to carry your luggage for a tip or sell you other taxi services. Engage only with the Retreat driver. If for any reason you cannot locate him, please go to the outdoor Britt Cafe to the left after you exit the terminal and message us.

Times for group pickup will be provided closer to the Retreat start date, once we have everyone's flight details (please send them to me as soon as you have them)
